The benefits of desexing

Desexing your pets will benefit both you and your pet in ways you may not have considered before.

It reduces territorial behaviour which may lead to fight wounds and abscesses that need veterinary treatment. It will also reduce their exposure to infectious diseases and parasites.

It helps control your dog’s urge to wander the streets looking for a mate - many dogs are likely to get into accidents with cars

It reduces unwanted males coming into your property looking for your female on heat

It reduces behaviours like humping, urine marking in males and females will no longer breed as they will not come into season

Urine odour is not as strong in male cats

Prevents false pregnancies in females

It reduces the likelihood of cancer and other diseases of the reproductive organs - uterine, ovarian and mammary diseases in female dogs and testicular cancers, some prostate diseases, perineal hernias and adenomas in male dogs

It eliminates unwanted litters of puppies or kittens

There are reduced Council registration fees for desexed dogs

Your beloved pets are in good hands
