Mog and Dog Desexing Clinic is operated by Mog and Dog Desexing Limited (Whangarei) and Mog and Dog Desexing Auckland Limited (Manukau) ("we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect

We collect information you give us when you book, contact us, or bring your pet in, including:

  • your name, phone number, email address and physical address
  • your pet's details, such as name, species, breed, age, sex, weight, microchip number and medical history
  • consent forms, treatment notes and clinical records
  • payment and invoicing details (we do not store full card numbers)
  • desexing voucher details from a rescue group, council or charity, if you use one
  • anything you send us by email, text, phone, Facebook or the contact form on this website

When you visit this website, our website host may automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view.

Why we collect it

  • to book and confirm appointments and send reminders
  • to provide safe veterinary care and keep accurate clinical records
  • to contact you about your pet before, during and after surgery
  • to process payments and redeem vouchers
  • to answer your enquiries
  • to meet our legal and professional obligations as a veterinary practice

We will not sell your personal information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

We only share your information when it is needed for the purposes above, for example with:

  • the rescue group, charity or council that issued your desexing voucher (to confirm the surgery was done)
  • a pet registry or council, if you ask us to register or update a microchip or registration
  • other veterinary clinics or specialists involved in your pet's care
  • service providers who help us run the business, such as practice management, email, accounting and website providers
  • anyone we are required or permitted to share it with by law

Some of our service providers store data overseas (for example, our website is hosted by Webflow in the United States). Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.

How we store and protect it

We keep your information in secure electronic systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep clinical records for as long as needed for your pet's care and to meet our legal and professional record-keeping requirements, then dispose of them securely.

Cookies

This website may use cookies and similar technologies so the site works properly and to understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 20 working days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
